What to expect at your first visit
Your first visit at our office gives you the opportunity to meet Dr. Hsieh and her friendly staff. We will take the time to listen to your concerns, review your medical and dental history, and answer any of your questions regarding orthodontic treatment. Please allow one hour for this visit.
At your first appointment, Dr. Hsieh will perform an extensive examination of your teeth and bite and explain the following:
- Is there an orthodontic problem?
- If so, what is the problem?
- What type of treatment is needed?
- When should it be corrected?
- How long will it take?
Following this, the costs involved, including the amount of benefit your insurance will cover, will be discussed. Our office offers various payment options and these will be explained.
If treatment is indicated, the next step will be to take diagnostic records. These usually consist of orthodontic X-rays, study models of your teeth, and photographs. We know your time is valuable and as a convenience to you, we may offer to take these records in our office directly following the examination. Alternatively, we may set up an appointment to take these records at a later time. After analyzing these records, Dr. Hsieh will be able to recommend the best course of treatment for your individual situation, and discuss with you the details of the proposed treatment plan.
To save time at your initial visit, you may download the patient forms below to be filled out at home, and bring them with you to the initial visit. Or if you prefer, we can mail you the forms, or you may arrive at your examination 15 minutes early to fill out the forms in our office.
If you provide us with your insurance information prior to your visit, we will be able to determine your insurance benefits ahead of time and give you a more accurate estimate of the costs involved on the day of your visit.
