Appointment Protocol for Adults

Before Your Apppointment

1. Check your appliances and inform us if there is anything broken that needs to be reattached. Reattaching appliances produces aerosols for which additional personal protective equipment (PPE) and extra time will be needed for your procedure. Call our office to explain what is broken so that we can reschedule you appropriately. If you show up for your appointment without prior notice of the broken appliance, then we will try to make you comfortable but will need to reschedule you for a different time to rebond the broken appliance.
2. Brush and floss your teeth at home. For patient safety, our tooth brushing station has now been converted to a hand washing sink.
3. Please do not drink anything hot or cold 15 minutes prior to your appointment as it may affect your temperature recording. Also, please refrain from taking any fever reducing medications 6 hours prior to your appointment. Your appointment will be rescheduled if you have a fever.
4. We will be asking you the following health screening questions before you enter the office. If you think that you will answer "yes" to any of these questions, then please call us prior to your appointment to discuss the specifics.
5. Please arrive 5 minutes before the start of your appointment. When you arrive in the parking lot, please give us a call at 925-551-8765 from your car and we'll ask you the health screening questions. We'll then let you know when it is okay to come into the office.
6. If you have guests with you, then please have them wait in the car for you. Only patients are allowed inside the office at this time.
7. Please wear a face covering or mask to your appointment. You'll need to keep it on at all times while in the office, unless we are working inside your mouth.
8. Please bring an extra jacket or sweater to your appointment. The office temperature will be kept cooler than normal in order to keep our staff comfortable as they will be wearing additional personal protective equipment (PPE).

During Your Appointment

1. You will first check in at our medical screening station where your temperature will be taken.
2. You will probably notice that we have removed all of the magazines and toys since they are difficult to clean and disinfect.
3. You will then sanitize your hand or use the sink to wash your hands.
4. You will then be seated into your chair and take off your mask when we start working on you.
5. When we are done, you'll put on your face mask and wash your hands if you placed them in your mouth at any point in the appointment.
6. You will then make an appointment on the way out or call us from your car to schedule your next appointment.
